Imperial Glass “Open Rose” Carnival Bowl in Sunset Ruby, Ruffled, 8"
A little burst of sunset for the table. This heavy Imperial Glass bowl glows in deep ruby red with a luminous carnival sheen that throws rainbows across the embossed roses and buds. The ruffled, scalloped rim gives it a soft, petaled silhouette, while the interior relief—known to collectors as Open Rose (also called American Beauty)—adds beautiful texture.
Made in Bellaire, Ohio by Imperial Glass (1901–1984), this colorway—often called Sunset Ruby—comes from the company’s late-mid-century revival of carnival glass, prized for its rich color and high iridescence. The original paper sticker remains, a nice detail for collectors. Lovely as a fruit or candy bowl, or simply as a glowing centerpiece.
